Jim Storrar set up Pasithea Consultancy in 2009 to fill what he felt was a gap in both training provision,service & policy assessment for small to medium businesses and private clients. Jim has worked within healthcare since 1987, and is a qualified mental health nurse. In this time he has worked within addiction services, elderly care, acute psychiatry and more recently as a specialist educator training in addiction and related subjects, delivering provision to addictions staff and partner agencies. Jim has also taught Aberdeen College/ICS work based programmes in care homes and facilities since 2006. He has also gained accredited NHS Scotland trainer status for Alcohol Brief Interventions, has a Diploma in Higher Education in Nursing , and an HNC in Health Care, and a Bsc in Health Studies, with specific emphasis on addiction , and drug and Alcohol Policy and Prevention. He was also the driving force behind the recent development of a Professional development Award in Brief Interventions for Substance Use on behalf of NHS Ayrshire & Arran in Partnership with the SQA the first award of its kind in Scotland.
Pasithea Consultancy takes the name from the Greek word Pasithea, which describes the Greek god of acquired sight.
The companies main focus is in three main areas
•to provide cost effective vetting and investigation facilities to members of the public, lawyers, and trusts providing expert information gathering and report facilities which are un biased,
•To provide cost effective training and training needs assessments to health and social care companies, in both drug and alcohol related topics, and certificated training.
• To provide up to date expert and cost effective alcohol and drug policy design or overhaul for your small to medium business.
